Belo Pops, Andheri West

Popsicles are never my 1st choice even in ice-creams. Even after trying few fruit based popsicles like Frugopop which look really pretty, having them for desserts never crossed my mind. Belo Pops a small popsicle parlour is whipping an array of natural flavours including sugar-free, dairy free, etc. The team sent me some samples to try & here’s what I had –

Pineapple Chamoy

Based on Mexican flavours, this is the perfect popsicle for adults. Chunks of sweet & sour pineapples can be seen easily floating in the spicy liquid with a hint of saltiness. The spice hits you 1st followed by the sweet & tangy flavour from the pineapple. Chatpata – Definitely a must try.

Creamy & Caramely Dulche De Leche

Frozen dulche de leche adds a nice crunch to soft, creamy popsicle. The sweetness hits you next & that was a little over-whelming for me. A great option for people who enjoy the caramel flavour.

Mixed Forest Berry Sorbet

Simple looking with complex flavours. Made with various berries, you taste the tart, sweet, tangy flavours with a slight bitter after taste (the one you feel after eating jamun). A good starting point in the popsicle world.

Rocky Road

With choco chips, roasted almonds & mini marshmallow’s in a creamy milk-chocolaty base was my fav of the lot. The sweetness was perfect & this is the perfect dessert popsicle for me. Its almost like a mini-meal.

Belo Special Rose Kulfi

This was the family favourite. A thick milk-based rose kulfi with rose petals was enjoyed thoroughly by everyone. Again the rose flavour was perfectly balanced & it smells really good.

Belo Pops is curating a great range of popsicles incorporating different textures & flavours. Though a tad heavy on the pocket, these are a great dessert option. There is no compromise done on the quality of the ingredients which enhance the taste further. Definately heading back for the Rose Kulfi & Rocky Road.
